Head of school, Dr. Tim Brackman, a beacon of dedication and leadership in Lutheran education, was recognized at the Association of Lutheran Secondary Schools (ALSS) conference in Dallas this spring. There, he received the prestigious Paul Lange Award. This accolade not only highlights his outstanding contributions but also places him in the esteemed company of many honorary individuals.
Established in 1994, the Paul Lange Award pays homage to Dr. Paul Lange, affectionately known as "Mr. Lutheran High School." As the first Principal and Superintendent of the Lutheran High School Association in St. Louis, he devoted his life to nurturing Lutheran secondary education. His journey took a significant turn in 1962 when he joined Valparaiso University to head its education department. For fifteen years, Dr. Lange championed secondary education as a viable professional goal for young Lutherans, establishing a vital partnership between Valpo and ALSS.
Dr. Lange's tireless dedication to Lutheran secondary education paved the way for countless administrators and educators. His legacy, deeply rooted in faith and service, continues to inspire generations.
The Paul Lange Award annually recognizes an administrator of an ALSS school who exemplifies a commitment to the educational ministry of Lutheran high schools. This special honor encourages professional church leaders to model the ministry of Jesus Christ for colleagues, students, families, and the church.
Dr. Tim Brackman embodies these values through his unwavering dedication to Lutheran North. His leadership not only enriches the lives of students but also strengthens the entire educational community. This award serves as a testament to Dr. Brackman’s commitment to fostering an environment where faith and education intersect, nurturing the spiritual and intellectual growth of every student.
This achievement follows in the footsteps of Paul Crisler, LN's former principal and visionary who received the Paul Lange Award in 2003. The tradition of excellence at Lutheran North underscores the school's commitment to upholding the highest standards in Lutheran education and is a testament to the enduring legacy of leadership and service that continues to define our community.
Let’s continue to uplift and support dedicated leaders like Dr. Brackman as they embody the spirit of Jesus Christ in their service to colleagues, students, families, and the church. Their unwavering commitment ensures that the values of faith, service, and education remain at the heart of Lutheran high schools, inspiring future generations to strive for excellence in all their endeavors.
Congratulations, Dr. Brackman, on this well-deserved honor! Your leadership and dedication are a shining example to us all.
